AUSTRALIAN AND NEW ZEALAND GRADUATES

To practice medicine in Western Australia, a medical practitioner must be registered with the Board.

General (Unconditional) Registration
Medical practitioners are eligible for General (Unconditional) Registration if:

  • Their primary medical degree was obtained from an Australian or New Zealand Medical School accredited by the Australian Medical Council (AMC); and
  • They have completed a 12 month period of internship

Eligibility is subject to the Board being satisfied the person:

  • Is competent to practise medicine;
  • Has a sound knowledge of the English language; and
  • Is of good character.
