MUTUAL RECOGNITION

To practice medicine in Western Australia, a medical practitioner must be registered with the Board.

General (Unconditional) Registration or Specialist Registration

Medical practitioners who are currently practicing in another state of Australia may be eligible for registration if they hold:

  • Current General (Unconditional) Registration in another state of Australia; or
  • Current Specialist Registration in another state of Australia

Eligibility is subject to the Board being satisfied the person:

  • Is competent to practise medicine;
  • Has a sound knowledge of the English language; and
  • Is of good character.

To progress an application for mutual recognition, an applicant must meet the requirements of the Board as follows;

  • Complete Form F; and
  • Supply:
    1. Documentary evidence of the current Annual Practicing Certificate to confirm the current registration status in another state;
    2. Identification validation - 100 points;
    3. Two current certified passport sized photos
    4. The relevant fee
